I've recently started re-ripping my Emperor: The Complete Works boxset after upgrading my setup massively since I got that box, and owning both the Abbey Road remasters and that box, I've concluded that the box is superior, sound wise. The box uses a 2-LP/45RPM setup VS 1-LP/33RPM for this AR one, which means the box versions have no inner groove distortion to speak of. The Abbey Road ones do, this one as well.

Not only that, the biggest difference is the sound. The boxset albums all sound WAY clearer, whereas the AR one sounds a lot muddier in comparison. I vastly prefer the boxset.

Instead of many BoB pressings of mid-00, very good pressing. Quality of sound and material are very high. I also have HSM pressing, it sounds different, because of mastering, and rich, but this one is really well too.

Really fantastic album! Not as good as the debut, but still great! I have always enjoyed listening to this album, but for some reason the memorability is not quite as strong on this for me as Eclipse, but the songs are still all very enjoyable while listening! On the contrary, this album contains my favorite Emperor song of all time; “The Loss and Curse of Reverence,” which is one of the greatest black metal tracks of all time. Artwork is great and this CD pressing has good packaging. Sounds good to my ears! Also, the bonus tracks from the Reverence EP and a decent sounding live track are more than welcome and completely essential in my book!

Meaningful pressing. Still the sonic mess, but now in most human sounding form. Quiet substrate, best instrument separation ever.

Well it’s true that that this is not audiophile pressing, but keeps the true spirit of sophisticated low fi black metal of emperor at that period of time! The green vinyl reissue has more detailed sound, but this one sounds chaotic and majestic

I think the sound quality is ok. It's black metal, so I don't think that it's supposed to be amazing anyways.
