I Adore This CD. Not Only Are The Remixes Killer But The Instrumentals Are A Joy To Listen To As Well. This Japanese Promo CD Is Packaged Very Very Nicely And Even Came In A Resealable CD Sized Protective Sleeve. A Must Own Collectors Item For The Hardcore Prince Fans Out There.

It's A Shame The Volume On This Is Heavily Compromised By Squishing All Of The Entire Maxi Single On Both Sides Of The Record. I Actually Have To Legit Turn My Volume Knob All The Way Up To Hear It Properly And Even Then The Bass Isn't Balanced And It Just Takes Forever To Get This To Sound Good But Once It Does It Is Incredible. One Of Princes Magnum Opuses, I Regard This As The Perfect Example Of What A Maxi Single / Remix EP Should Be. Perfect Mid 90's Funky R&B Pop Music And The Instrumentals Are Killer Too, The Mustang Mix Is Arguably The Definitive Rendition Of The Most Beautiful Girl In The World. The Booklet That Comes With It Is Beautiful To Behold Too.

Can someone explain why The most beautiful girl in the world does not appear on any Diamonds and pearls edition on Discogs ? Am I wrong and it is on another album ???? thanks !!!!

I never understood why this was identical on both sides. Fidelity would've been better as a single track on each side.

I know that some people would wonder why on earth I would review this, because there is not much to say....As I always say, I am wired very weird, so to me I couldn't skip it....

This was "The Artist formally known as Prince" or "The Artist" (as he was called at this time) way to kinda slap "Warner Bros." in the face, and it worked!!!! Think about it, this is just an EP, but because "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" became a massive hit, the people at "Warner" were huffing and puffin'.....

"Why didn't we get that?!?!", that was what they were saying....

It didn't matter though, "The Artist" was going to find a way to do what he wanted to do, and stick it to "Warner Bros." at the same time...He even used a very, very, very small company in "Bellmark Records" to distributed the record, and once again threw the industry off...

This put a lot of conversation on the table...If a big artist like this could pull this off, why get jacked by the major labels?????

So even though nothing is on here but Remixes, this still put a ripple effect in the music industry, while accomplishing exactly what "The Artist" wanted.....

This release from 1994 sounds amazing on vinyl. Love having the promo of this 💜

Is this a 45 rpm record? None of the labels indicate what's what.

Is this a 33 or 45 rpm? Nothing on the label helps.

This pressing is DEPRESSING. First of all, there is no reason to cram the entire set on BOTH sides of the record. They have somehow (we'll get to that) fit over 30 minutes on a side. It's crazy. At that density the whole thing could be split between sides at 45 RPM. But that density is the problem. The levels on this pressing are LOW. About 1/3 the level of any other half-decent pressing I have ever laid hands on. But that's how they crammed it all on both sides, right? The levels are LOW so the grooves are smaller width. UGH. What a total piece of garbage. Whoever mastered this vinyl should be ashamed of themselves. It's THE single worst wax I have ever heard.

Bought it on discogs approx 7 years ago for less than 3€, mint condition, only to fill my shipment... absurd prices on vinyls today !
