Eminem – Relapse

sounds pretty good plays noiseless pretty "bassy" tho still a strong recommend

Fairly basic reissue, no inserts or anything of note when it comes to that. The sleeves are high quality however and the gatefold is a welcome inclusion- sound wise it's clean and loud- similar to his other albums if you're familiar with the vinyl releases of his work.

Ok, that album really gave me a little crack back then. I first shrugged when some auto tune made an appearance on "My Mom" and also later stepped on the stage. Was a new Eminem coming? Sort of. "My Mom" made my eyes roll, the man started to bore me with hold stories. After a five years long hiatus, I was sceptical anyway. He was clean, suffered from a writer's block, lost a friend, was in hospital ... But at the lastest with "Bagpipes From Baghdad" Eminem was back for me! That beat is insane! (... after a song with that very name placed on the tracklist) Lyrically, he presents himself in great shape again. The sounds changed a bit, but still clearly has power, energy an enough strong tracks to offer. The mentioned "Bagpipes From Baghdad", "Hello", "Medicine Ball" is great too, that chorus is fantastic and as simple the beat comes across, as effective the sum works. That Christopher Reeves age is hilarious! The lyrics of "Stay Wide Awake" are amazing, "Must Be The Ganja" ... "Beautiful" is deep, honest and was written while he still was recovering in the hospital. Overall, the album feels a bit more poppy than his previous ones, "Same Song & Dance" gave me some chills, the following "We Made You" made me crinch & still does, I just don´t get that instrumental, but overall it should be seen as another solid entry in his catalogue.

How would you tell this from the later US reissue? Anyone to share the matrix/runout?

My favorite Eminem album, maybe not quite his best, that would probably be MMLP for me, but damn close. Everything I already loved about the Slim Shady Persona is only amplified here and paired with an even stronger rap technique and more modern but equally good Dre production. One of the best rap albums I know! And here lies the problem for many: the accents. However, these allow Eminem to create incredible rhymes and flow like crazy. For any rapnerd and especially horrorcore fan, this could be a real gem if that person doesn't know the album yet. For me it's been one of my favorite albums ever since it was released and so for more than half my life and maybe it is even the CD I've listened to the most in my life (until now atleast!)

Side 2 has a decent amount of clicks in 1 of the tracks. Not sure if anyone else has the issue, this is even after cleaning it.

No single comment... Can't they press on 180 gram vinyls in a gatefold? So that all is on 180g / gatefold? So it's most are on 180 gram but no gatefold. SSLP, MMLP, Eminem Show are 180 but no gatefold . the one on gatefold are no 180. Are they dumb? MMLP2 not and Relapse not 180g . Just one of his best stuff. Then his latest album 'Kamikaze' came out gatefold, green vinyl but I dn't know it's a bit thicker but not sure 180...
