Edited 19 years agoAlthough being familiar with probably not more than 1/10 of Force Inc releases, I'm very confident for the label's identity as i keep running into Force Inc following my favorite artists over the years. Possibly even first FIM compilation explains it pretty well. This label have been restlessly releasing some of most beautiful tunes for over ten years -- and it's not the end yet! -- devotion like this makes the world go round. Thank you Force.

Edited 20 years agoAchim Szepanski is your friend.
When you set up the German version of R&S, it will inevitably be a bit "different"; musically, this Frankfurt conglomerate would embrace both the über-functional and the most nonsensical brown acid excursions, spread out on its half-dozen sublabels that were active at any given time; and accompanying every release, a postmodern rave theory rambling that redefined the art of the press release - even the blandest tech house record would be packed with an indecipherable thinkpiece. How could you not love them?
So to sum up briefly - "this is a label where it's total chaos what's being released" [Mike Ink]; seminal acid works (Heckmann & co), brief "Breakcore" period when breakcore was just a German version of UK ardkore (92ish) and weirdness, greatness and some Köner on Mille Plateuax - later, Chi-house revivalism in the Relief era, then a lot of glitch (the jury's still out, but some occasional goodies, yo), minimal techno, a d'n'b sublabel, a couple of somewhat stylishly lifeless microhouse sublabels, and that pointless unit Ritornell, and an infinite amount of other muzicks. Yes, the Force releases things that make you go "Pheeew..." - reinvention at all costs, but everyone can't specialize.
Stamina, too - refuses to die even after the EFA incident. That's customer service.
