I received an order before christmas with status Payment Pending. I checked my PayPal and the money transfer was done using PayPal eCheque that needed some time to be cleared so I waited. On 30th December I received an email from PayPal notifying me that the payment was clear. But the order status on Discogs doesn't change to Payment Received. I verified the payment was correct by checking that the "pending" icon when inside my PayPal had changed to a standard icon now.
So what can I do? I can't find any way round this, so technically I can't proceed with shipment if going by the book. -

1) ship your customer the stuff they paid for.
2) open a request so Discogs can change the status to Payment Received and you can then advance it to Shipped -

I have had the same thing yesterday. The payment seems to have come through, but the status of the transaction is 'payment pending'.
The circumstance was that PayPal held the money for 24h (some sort of anti-fraud scheme), hence 'payment pending' - but when they released it, the status is unchanged. -

Raise an SR to have Discogs change its status https://.discogs.cinepelis.org/hc/en-us/requests/new
but when they released it, the status is unchanged -

I have the same problem right now. I'm the buyer and it's the first time this happens to me. I paid instantly (I always do) and I did NOT use an e-cheque (I NEVER do). The other orders I made at almost the same time (within minutes before and after the specific order) all showed "payment received". The weird thing: While paypal window was prossessing the payment for the specific seller via the discogs checkout page, a quick message appeared "security check..." for about 3 secs. After the payment was prossessed and I was automatically re-directed to the discogs order page, I noticed the "pending" status. Doing a quick research at paypal, I saw this: "If a payment you sent is pending or unclaimed, it means the recipient hasn’t received or hasn’t accepted the payment yet. The payment would be pending or unclaimed if it was sent to an email address or phone number that isn’t ed to a verified PayPal . Check that you sent the payment to the correct email address or phone number. Or the recipient may need to set up a PayPal or their for the payment to complete." I have a verified accound and e-mail and no problem with my card, bank authorised the transaction as always, payment is on hold by paypal. So could this mean a possible error on seller's paypal settings?
Also: "In some cases, PayPal's security system may flag a transaction as potentially high-risk, leading to a pending status until further verification." The seller appears to be relatively new. So read this: "When you’re a new seller, it takes time to build up enough history to demonstrate a pattern of positive buyer-seller transactions. The good news is you can usually move out of this status by confirming your identity and building up a history of positive selling activity." When paypal "tests" a new seller, it can take up to 21 working days to release the payment for "security reasons of the transaction" I don't quite understand the meaning of all these, but it seems paypal is not very friendly to new sellers (?) Bummer, I have 2 records from my want-list in that order and I doubt this "Pending" thing will end soon...Plus the fact I cannot do anything more about it... What if this problem starts to increase? Any suggestions how to handle this?
