Discogs, the premier destination for record collectors, proudly announces the acquisition of the Wantlister technology from developer Stoat Labs. This exciting acquisition brings powerful new capabilities to Discogs’ exclusive Wantlist tool, making it easier than ever for record collectors to find the music they desire to fuel their collections.

Among the new features is the much-requested ability to filter items in the Wantlist by price, format, condition, and seller location. Wantlister will also introduce new, customizable notification options, including real-time notifications for specific releases and daily or weekly digests. These updates ensure that the most relevant new releases matching s’ Wantlists are surfaced for quick, easy, and actionable review.

Wantlister also creates a dedicated shopping integration catered to the Wantlist, allowing s to shop for records in a more personalized way. This means s can effortlessly find the records they want, enhancing their overall Discogs experience.

“The Discogs community deserves best-in-class solutions to meet their record-collecting needs, both those developed in-house and those acquired from equally ionate external sources,” said Discogs Chief Operating Officer Lloyd Starr. “The acquisition and integration of Wantlister addresses immediate needs that our s have been asking about for years. It is just the latest example of our investment to modernize the Discogs platform for all s.”

“As music lovers and Discogs s, we built Wantlister to scratch our own record-collecting itch,” said Stoat Labs CEO Sean Johnson. “We often thought how much better it would be if Wantlister was part of Discogs directly, and so we were thrilled when Discogs approached us to acquire the technology and integrate it into the Wantlist feature.”

“Last year we made a promise to the Discogs community that they would begin seeing the updates they’ve requested reflected across the platform, and this integration of Wantlister is a perfect example,” said Discogs founder and CEO Kevin Lewandowski. “Wantlist is one of the most popular features on Discogs helping fuel the collector’s journey for all, and just one of many that Discogs is committed to modernizing as the platform continues to evolve.”
