Never released because the single was cancelled at the last minute. All of the pressings of "Smile" (both CD maxi-singles and 12" records) were withdrawn and destroyed just days before the release date, save a few that managed to escape, making this one of the most rare MJ collectors items of all time. Track 4 is exclusive to the 5-track CD maxi-single, and its track time is incorrectly given as 4:50 on sleeve (correct duration is 4:32).

I have this CD, I was given 4 copies from a source in California after it was deleted. He had about 30-40 copies of this, and half that in vinyl. In hindsight I wish I would’ve snagged a few of those, but at the time I didn’t have the means to play vinyl. I sold a copy five years ago to a collector in Japan, he flew to the US personally to retrieve it.
