A pretty serious letdown. My favorite track on this soundtrack - Humanity Part 1 - is washed out, has pops and clicks, sounds as though it's a second hand recording. Sounds way better on the digital release. The rest of the record sounds mediocre and thin, with perhaps a few small exceptions. Shame, because the artwork, cover concept, poster, gatefold, etc look fabulous. But yeah, this is among WW's worst in of sound quality.

They are pressing a new variant of this + a new EP with unreleased songs. The unreleased stuff looks pretty boring but Im hoping the new repress has quieter vinyl even though its clear splatter. 30$ instead of the original 32$ as well.

According to PayPal none of these records on here are mint because they have a pressing issue. I have just lost a case because I said the media was mint and the guy knew about the pressing issues accepted them over email then opened up a PayPal dispute saying Not as discribed mint media doesn’t have pressing issues and I have to give a full refund and now the vinyl has been played.

Very nice object… to display ! If I didn't open the seal personally, I could think it a "used" LP… it "cracks" during 10 minutes on side A, "pops" on side B, a shame a for a new vinyl. And no comments from Waxwork.

The copy of the snow edition i have ( purchased new) has some of the most distracting surface noise and high end harshness on side 2 that I have come across on any recent modern day pressing from any company.Really not very good at all.
-
i have loud popping on Side one track 5. about one and a half minutes of it. Real shame, it does ruin that track.

I bought it yesterday (it took time to arrive in stores in ) and I have the same issue with Humanity part.1 getting a lot of surface noise. Everything else is ok and I didn't notice any static pops. I use an Ortophon OM 5E.

Edited 7 years agoColoured wax always sounds inferior to standard black vinyl. I'll stick to my original 82 pressing and save myself big bucks.
When the records spinning on the the turntable it doesn't matter how fancy the sleeve is... -
I'm curious if my copy is a rarer copy of the white version. There is a little bit of red splatter in both LPs of my white version. Was wondering has anyone else come across this?

I missed out on the first pressing. I bought my copies on 15th February (both the white and deluxe versions). I'm quite certain waxwork records realised there was a problem with the first pressing - which is why they did a pre-order for the 'second pressing' within a day or two. Given that I'm still waiting for £284 worth of juicy waxwork records to arrive in the United Kingdom (love being raped on their shipping charges) I'm hoping they have sorted this defect. If not, it will be a great pleasure to demand a refund. Given the price we pay for new vinyl these days - defects and sub standard listening experiences should not be tolerated
