Edited one year agoJust played a third (!) copy of this album. All have too much background noise and pops. Especially side B almost unbearable to listen to with sibilance on vocals and strings especially on title track Skeleton Tree.
Tried everything, cleaning, skating, different deck. Such a shame for such an unbelievably beautiful song.
Playing from Rega P3 with Exact. -

Anyone experiencing sibilance on the vocals? Especially during the closing songs on each side. The rest is fine.

Real, real nice. I had the original press with the sound quality problems and the absolutely enormous cover, and always hated it but had no idea this repress existed until recently. Bought it on the spot and I’m glad I did. Wish they’d fix Idiot Prayer as well!
Thivon — give the digital a listen. I find there is some baked-in sibilance in his vocals, especially on Skeleton Tree the track. I learned not to turn it up as loud as I normally like on my headphones because it bites a little. Possible that’s what you’re hearing. -
Good soundstage, lovely musicscape. Only thing that struck me was sybillance in Cave's vocals. Otherwise good pressing!

Just received it today after having it on CD previously. Record (variant A, from FNAC ) is astonishing, much more dynamic than the CD. LP pressing seems clean and perfect.
For me, probably the second best Bad Seeds album ever! - and I've listened to and owned everything NC+BC since The Birthday Party days. -

Edited 6 years agoFantastic sounding LP. Very little surface noise and a standard size jacket. Very wide sound. The drums in "I Need You" really hit you in the gut.

Edited 7 years agoBought mine from Amazon.fr. No issues, no warping, sounds great. Standard LP jacket.
