I don't get the negative ratings here. I put off buying this on vinyl for quite a while because of the negative but finally pulled the trigger because I love this album and it was a good price. Is this the greatest sounding record I own? No, but it sounds very very good to me on my mid-tier system. Clear, clean, good mix and separation, and only a couple small spots of very very faint crackle.

Edited 4 years agoI've been looking forward to the vinyl release of this record since it originally came out. Love the music. Unfortunately, Sub Pop got a raw deal from RTI as far as pressing quality. This sounds more like an United Record Pressing product: constant noise, ranging from barely tolerable to unlistenable (this is a quiet album and the noise in spots is louder than the music).
I have an ultrasonic cleaning system and a vacuum wet-cleaning system. My copy has been cleaned in both with zero improvements. I don't use an AT turntable with $30 cartridge. This is just low-quality vinyl pressed poorly.
