Edited 18 years ago"Somewhere In The Night" is my favorite song of 1982, bar none! Stereo is quite the mysterious group and finding their music is a very difficult task! This being their most well known song, it's absolutely one of the best Italo Disco-styled songs ever made - and also nearly impossible to find an original pressing of, so good luck finding anything other than the mp3 nowadays! This release comes off the Carrere Records label and is not an authentic Italo Disco song, but it doesn't even matter. The robot voice and beats are exactly on the same page as Steel Mind's, "Bad ion". Actually, I can't believe I am saying this, but it's BETTER than the damn near perfect masterpiece by Steel Mind!!!
This song demonstrates why it's important to know the non-Italian labels like Carrere because they sometimes contain otherwise unknown masterpieces. The male robot voice that repeatedly shouts, "Somewhere in the night!" in this song is one of the most wicked lines I've ever heard in music.
