I have heard that none of the band actually play on this but is just session musicians. Does anyone know whether that is true?

Just found a nice mono COM-102 on Jan 20 2023 $10. The cover still has shrink wrap on it making the cover near mint.
My copy is very close matrix with the side 1 15S being on my side 2 and visa versa with the 13S
Matrix / Runout (Side A stamped exc. "R1" and "MR" etched): TZRM -8691-13S MR R1 (very hard to see the R1)
Matrix / Runout (Side B stamped exc. "MR" etched): TZRM -8692-15S MR
Has the 6 on back cover lower left. As of today I have not found a copy on here with my exact matrix. This seems to be very close but not quite. I'll keep looking. -
My 1967 Colgems Indianapolis US mono pressing of 'More Of The Monkees' COM-102 appears to be just that. The only difference that I can identify is a small '2' on the lower left side of the rear cover. This '2' is similar to that of the '6' on the rear cover of the Mercury Record Manufacturing pressing. But, mine has an 'I' in the run-out, rather than the 'MR' in the run-out which I understand is an indication of the Mercury Record Manufacturing Press. If anyone can clarify what the '2' indicates, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You.

My 1967 Colgems US runout has TZRM-8691-136 as the run out on Side 1. No results have that, any possible pressings?

Edited 7 years agoA very good solid album from the Monkees that reflects their personality and style. If the Beatles had gotten voice lessons, they would be The Monkees !
