Notes

This is the first pressing in Australia. Manufacture credit on label will read at the bottom of the label around the circumference as "MADE IN AUSTRALIA FOR THE PARLOPHONE CO. LTD. SYDNEY, N.S.W." There is no mention of E.M.I.

The rear cover has only one Mono cat. no. top right. No Stereo release existed at this point.

The Angus McBean credit appears upside down on the back of the cover in the bottom left-hand corner, due to the flip-back design.

Approximately 300 to 400 UK Mono sleeves were imported for the initial pressing as EMI Australia was not sure of the Australian market.

Runouts are stamped.

It all started here kicking off with the immortal words... "One, two, three, four... Well she was just seventeen..." and only got better... and better ...and better - until John's immortal words at the end of Let it Be: "I'd like to thank-you on behalf of the group and I hope we the audition." Well what do you reckon?? More popular than Jesus? With more than one billion albums sold worldwide, maybe??
I being 10 yrs old and my school teacher bringing this album into class to play at recess - I sat around gob-smacked while the teacher danced a strange (and to me, erotic) dance. This album belongs in every collection. A marvel.

That in Australia very good LP's were pressed, which I would not contradict. But there are not more LP's of this quality there, that's not right. Look up http://mi-me.de

This first edition of the Australian (Oct 63')"Please Please Me" Could be one of the greatest vinyl releases in Australian recorded music. It weighs in at 7 ounces. Sounds like no other record I have ever heard, If all Australian records had followed the release standards of this pressing there would be alot more Australian vinyl worth collecting....!
