Edited 8 months agoElectronik Automatik is probably the most cutting edge techno track ever made, fusing a real art of Noise/nyc Electro sample aesthetic with striping percussive accents and 4-4 bassline driven acid. To this day this still sounds like the future, and the blueprint for how most techno should (but rarely ever) sounds.

I recorded a live set by Man Machine at the Tin Pan Alley club in Glasgow in 1990, on a Yamaha 4 track recorder, around the time that "Denkimi-Shakuhatchi" was released, and I'm sure it was the Cyber Subsonic mix of "Man Machine" he played during the set! I'll need to dig that recording out as I haven't listened to it for over two decades! From what I can it was a great set and a good recording.

Edited 6 years agoshockingly good value as of 2019, this record is cheap as chips for such a classic early rave. Big influence on me at the time. It also influenced the Bass & Bleep era (my favourite period), possibly the 1st bleep tune ? Ahead of time

I bought the original in 89 when we were organising illegal raves and house parties. Elektronik Automatik was the popular rave mix, darkside and fast beats was always the most popular in any alternative mix. You people are tame and probably too young to know. Do one.

The Elektro - Genetik mix has, at least in my circles, always been considered 100% propah. And rightly so. Minimal. Beats and bass. Oh, that bassline. Did I mention the bassline? Yes, the bassline.

Simply the best version of this forgotten amazing EP. That's the only version (correct me If I'm wrong) where you can find the "Electro-Genetik Version", this track clearly stands out for me ! Don't miss it, killer one !
