This is a pretty crummy sounding pressing of the record. Extremely noisy, and also lifeless. If you have the dough, I'd recommend shelling out for an early first DATE or CBS pressing.

I guess I’ll never know and take everybody’s word for the poor quality. Mine is in a frame because it’s autographed. I purchased it at a Zombies concert

I agree with other reviews. Sealed copy was warped and quite noisy. Listenable though, a shame for such a great album.

Being the first pressing I’d ever heard, it sounded fine. The songs are amazing, and it’s quickly become one of my all-time favorite albums. And then I got my hands on a first press, and the difference is astounding. This one sounds absolutely terrible in comparison. My friend has an eighties reissue and it actually sounds pretty good too (although still not quite as good as the OG). Do yourself a favor and get a better version. It’s totally worth it.

Terrible pressing. Very noisy. Cleaned the record twice to no avail. Don't waste your money on this one. UPC & matrix numbers on mine match what is listed in this entry.

I've never heard and original and I'm no audiophile, but considering that I spend under $20 on this release I am over the moon with the quality. It sounds nice and quiet, well mixed and mastered, and there's not a warp to be had (the record is rather thin so warping isn't completely out of the question depending on how specific shops store their inventory, but nevertheless I lucked out). The record comes in a pretty killer packaging for the price range as well, with a poly-lined sleeve. Overall, one of the best purchases I've made in a while.

I am sure there are better sounding pressing out there but for the money you can't beat this one. Quiet and dynamic. Nice reissue!
-
Average reissue certainly could have been better. Repertoire or Japanese SHM CD are at least as good
