This is undoubtedly a brilliant release and a fascinating introduction to the sound of Basic Channel.
But the thing is that, with time, this superb packaging breaks the cd inside !
When last year I opened the box to re-digitalize at a higher rate, I found that the record had been broken in pieces.
As it had been stored carefully for years and left untouched, I was quite surprised. But how logical : a piece of plastic holding on a small metal circle : the later one logically variate in size when temperature change, the plastic don't, and bang! And it doesn't requires a heavy temperature variation : it was in my appartement, so it remained between 16 to 25°C...
I ed Basic Channel, that acknowledged this occured to lots of people, and told me they would give me a link for a digital replacement, but it never happened.

So If you got this one, and love it in one piece, I suggests that you check it rightaway, and if by chance it is still in one piece, do store it elsewhere than in its box!

What can I say? Chain Reaction is one the most important experimental techno labels in the world and every one track on this compilation proofs that. All artists presents their own unique style - ascetical Substance adjacents with "sound luxury" Contionus Mode. The most famous label "stars" as Porter Ricks, Vainquer and Monolake are as always in good condition - their tracks are the best. I love Porter Ricks, so "Port Of Transition" is something uncanny for me - true masterpiece. Ridis track with his melancholic bass line is also excellent. But probably the very best is last Monolake track - ambient was always my feeble part ;).
Very good start to get to know with CR. Go get it.
