The reissue that came out on black friday 2019 is one of the best sounding records I currently own. It's a fantastic album, just from a song standpoint, chock full of what were or were to become Phish live staples. But this reissue is just a delight. If I were to hone in on one stand out, it's Mike Gordon's bass tone. Just super buttery, punchy and funky. Overall, though, it really sounds like you're sitting in the record studio control room, hearing it the way they wanted it to be heard. Highly recommend picking it up if you're a Phan!

Anyone have a beat up copy for sale w/ the insert? I opened my sealed copy and it was missing the insert.

I purchased my copy of this LP back around 2000 at a record shop while vacationing in Bar Harbor, ME. It was sealed and upon opening it, I discovered that there was no insert that appears to be included in this release. The LP just came in a generic white inner sleeve. I'm just wondering if anyone else has this LP and didn't get the printed insert with lyrics? Either way, I'm wicked happy that I own this LP since it's so rare and is one of my favorite Phish albums. Even though this could have been a 2-LP pressing considering the album's length, this is an incredible pressing that doesn't seem to have much inner groove distortion at all.

Why, oh- why, did I not buy more copies of this back in '99-2000, when it cost all of ~$14??

What a lovely album. This band re-instilled my faith in music,; when the majority of people my age were blasting Eminem and Limp Bizkit, I was improv-jamming with my old buds and getting elevated on jam-talent from Phish, Keller Williams, SCI, and for my generation's, "British Invasion," a healthy dose of Radiohead.

The Story of the Ghost is the first Phish album which dug its way extraordinarily deep into my heart. The crafting of the songs, the heart in the studio performances, the purity in the vocals that wove this awesome work of art; it's what an album should be.

My copy has dust, a slight inaudible warp, and plays superbly. I am planning on having it cleaned professionally, and protecting it better now that I know how rare it is. I will never- ever -even between the hardest of places and most rocky surface- come off of it. HAD I purchased a plethora of these, if after gifting best friends who would cherish and care for it properly, I can say it would still be hard to consider letting any ficticious "extra" copy of this go. This is one of the best sounding records I own. A magical gem for any true Phish Phan.
