The Liberation Through Hearing During The Intermediate State (Tibetan: bardo "liminality"; thodol as "liberation"), sometimes translated as Liberation Through Hearing or transliterated as Bardo Thodol is a funerary text. It is often referred to in the West by the more casual title, The Tibetan Book of the Dead.
The album contains chanted/recited ages from the 1927 translation by Walter Yeeling Evans-Wentz.
Tracks 3, 4 and 5 were recorded live in the Tibetan Buddhist Gompa on top of the Swayamboo-hill in Kathmandu, Nepal in January and February 1989.
12 page booklet with introductory notes, lyrics and glossary.
The album title is spelt as 'Liberation Through Hearing' only on the front and rear booklet artwork.
