Edited 6 years agoI really like this issue. I think the remaster is fine, having compared it side by side with the OG CD rip, they really don't sound dramatically different at all, but the remaster brings out a few little details here and there which makes it at least as enjoyable if not more for me. You gotta keep in mind that this was never a hi-fi album, and neither this remaster or the original is a really a 'sound quality' experience so I'm not sure it's really worth fussing over the sound differences, honestly.
The inclusion of the '93 alternate mix of the album is the big selling point of this version, though, it's just a cool new way to hear the album. You even get three tracks from the self titled EP as a bonus. The presentation of this CD is also fantastic, my only complaint being that I prefer the artwork of the actual disc on the original version, but this is really otherwise. Totally recommended.
