This album is one of progressive jazz’s best kept secrets. Whenever I listen to this record I hear something for the first time. Little wonder Keith Jarrett calls it his favorite. Undoubtedly it is a defining moment in his jazz career.

Jarrett only recorded one album for Columbia and it certainly is a great one. It covers lots of different territories with a stellar cast of musicians, Charlie Haden, Paul Motian, Dewey Redman, Sam Brown and Airto Moirera. It's a big chunk all at once but very enjoyable with Jarrett's piano prowess singing, swinging and really digging into gospel and blues. An essential part of the Jarrett discography and no fan should be without it.
