I wonder if more and more of the OG copies will rise in sales and price because of the viral AI laughing Rick and Morty meme that has seemingly spread like wildfire all across the internet.

An essential 12” for any self respecting underground club DJ. All the tracks are great, but the standout for me is the incredible “Lumpy Oatmeal”, which has destroyed the dance floor at more of our gigs than I care to !

Go to Lumpy Oatmeal for a banging piece of acid. Hate to say it but between this and How's the music, these are both really bad examples of poor mastering with so much vinyl noise for a minimal track! However, still a popular club track from way back.

Nothing compares to the first time you heard 'Don't Laugh' in a club, on a dancefloor. Same for Size 9, 'I'm Ready'. I was there, back then... Oh, how time flies!

In the early '90s there was an arcade game called Rolling Thunder. Sometimes the laughing enemy boss came up at the end of the level and I believe with 90% certainty that this is the source of the sample.

Edited 4 years agoJosh Wink sampled the laugh from a movie called THE GLASS SLIPPER (1955)
You can hear it in the laughter right after Prince Charles gets pushed into the pond by Ella. I just happened to hear it while watching the movie and could NOT believe it!..100% match -
Edited 4 years agoI don't know if it was Winx that more than largely inspired by Frankie Bones or if it was the other way around, but this single very sounds like Frankie Bones - The End (Frankie Bones - Bone Up!), published the same year... Very strange...

I worked in a record store when this came out, a kid who was tripping came into the store to have a bit of a wig out. The kid asked the owner of the store (who had little idea of dance music) to pick out a record for him to listen to on headphones and would you believe the clueless owner randomly grabbed a copy of this. He couldn't have picked either a better or worst record for someone tripping really needless to say the guys in the dance department laughed our asses off for a long time over his random choice.

Edited 4 years agoB sides for the win! I wouldn't mind if they released these tracks by themselves.

Slow burn nod to the detroit scene once again. nothing essential but a nice tidbit to mix in here and there.
