Notes
The original album had an outer sleeve which was made to look like a plain brown paper bag. Each cover showed an alternate angle of a man in a bar. The scenario has been photographed from 6 different viewpoints within the bar and then 6 different sleeve variations have been created (with the letters A - F at the top of the spine denoting each variation). The inner sleeve features a 'magic' ink in different colours which appear on the design when gently wetting.

Sold my beaten up NZ pressing for this UK version.
Muddy? Yes maybe but not lifeless. Is he interested in anyone that has compared directly to the JP remaster??? -
Edited 9 months agoI love this album. I own the original 1979 LP (I was 14 at the time!) and a Japanese mini LP CD pressing. However, I always felt this album was TERRIBLY mastered. It sound muffled and even with the equalizer turned up on the highs it sounds like it was produced by Phil Spector in the 70s. Is the latest remaster any better?

Edited one year agoNeed help with identification: I have an "E" copy with matrix on side A: ST-SS-794345-M (PR) STRAWBERRY, on the back of the Jacket in the top right corner, mine is a gold stamped "Promotional Copy Not For Sale", I could not find this one anywhere on Discogs,

Some of my pastel hues from wetting (I would guess using saliva on the end of a previous owner's finger), remain colouring small parts. Does anyone know, if & how it will turn b/w again? Once coloured, is that permanent?

I have a copy with the side A label on both sides a and B. worth much? I am also missing the inner sleeve with the bar photo

My version of this ‘A’ version has a misprint of the copyright and performance notes which are very offset on side 1. Inner sleeve ‘unpainted’

I got the repress "Walmart version" with the backstage reproduction, does anyone know if the water will change the inner black and white sleeve ?

Edited 3 years agoThe 1979 Japanese versions are the best sounding versions of this record (presence of bass and well balanced mids and highs). Period.
