This is an incredible album, and this first UK pressing is top rate. I cannot believe it has taken me this long to discover this - for far too long saw Numan as a one-hit wonder for "Cars" - this album (and recently picking up "Replicas") has opened my eyes. There is a driving, dystopian feel to many of these songs, which in in its own electronic way, has echoes of Black Sabbath, as crazy as that sounds. Agree with others...a must-buy.

Picked up a VG+ copy today, what a great album and listen. Anyone interested in Electronic music should own a copy of this. Enjoy.

Picked this up today, but my copy doesn't appear to match with any of the listed runout variants...

Grabbed this for £8 odd today and am thrilled I did. Bloody fantastic. Mine’s a tidy EX, very happy for the price.

Absolute classic record. Bought mine the very first day it came and is variant 6 above.
I cannot believe the lukewarm reviews here. Talk of repetition is a little odd. Do not Sabbath''s guitar riffs repeat ad infinitum ?!?! Yet nobody moans about them ! It's a fact of riff based music people ! Tribal and even acoustic folk music repeats very very much. So what !?!?
All the songs on this album are perfectly placed for the mood that is created here. No filler, no padding. A prime example of early synth rock.

Gone through three pressings of this record, bad distortion throughout, especially on Complex, Films and M.E. Bad enough that I've barely bothered listening to side 2, just pack it up and send it back. Just an unlucky album for me I think

Edited 5 years agoM.E. What a tune.......haunting sounds that are warm and inviting....Combined with lyrics that paint a dystopian future, You cant go wrong

I like it was yesterday when this album came out. I was 15 and heard it at our local record shop and immediately bought it on cassette. My dad had just installed an aftermarket pioneer head unit, pioneer speakers + a small amp in our new 79 Honda accord. Just blown away at how loud I could crank up this tape. Recently bought a really good condition original lp, and once again I'm blown away with it. The mastering on the original is just fantastic!
