Reviews

I haven't heard the MoFi on my turntable setup, but through my amp with needledrops, I prefer this one. It's punchy, bass and clear. One of the best sounding records in my collection.
-
Indeed a very good pressing. Forever Changes was not recorded optimally to begin with (bass is a little weak and especially the low ends on the drums are very dull, typical for a 60s record imho). This version does the best to this recording possible though with great instrument separation and an almost "orchestral feeling" you will not get by listening to the digital remaster.
That said, it focuses a lot on the instruments which sometimes lead to the vocals being a tad too quiet for my taste on some tracks (Old Man, The Red Telephone).
Nonetheless, you should buy this pressing with confidence. This is one of the greatest albums and we should appreciate such an outstanding AAA version being available at such an affordable price. Great job by Rhino Vinyl, Chris Bellman and Optimal. -
This does sound great.
Excuse my ignorance but what does it actually mean when it says Cut From Original Analogue Master ? Does that mean its cut from the original master tape from the 60s ? Or something else ? I sometimes wonder if statements like that are more marketing than any actual measure of quality, but that could be just my cynical old man’s mind at work 🤣 -
I can echo what others have said. Incredible value - I prefer this pressing over my 45pm MoFi. Excellent quality, sounds fantastic.
-
This is a true audiophile-quality pressing. It really surprised me at this price point. Sounds fantastic and agile, with great definition and instrument separation. It lacks a bit of bass, but that is probably what the artist intended. Would love to have the ERC release to compare.

Found a gently used copy cheap. Sounds absolutely amazing. The acoustic guitars and strings are just perfect. Long live Arthur Lee and Love. And Chris Bellman.
-
Just picked this up in HMV on offer, 3 vinyl for £55! Absolute bargain. Had this on CD for years, finally thought I’d fork out for it on vinyl. It is a superb pressing imo, clean, no noise, dynamic, rich, centred, flat…everything you could want…and a stunning album too
-
I have to add to the bandwagon of good reviews. This pressing sounds fantastic. Full, rich fidelity, LP pressed flat and on center, quiet and not warped. Arthur never sounded so good. Price was super for a from master-tapes reissue of a very historically problematic record.
-
Edited 2 years agobeautiful sound and pressing, sturdy jacket, does justice to the grandeur of this record's 'masterwork' status.
no bells and whistles but I bought it to listen.
snatch it up while its cheap and relax. -
So, we get this for 15 bucks: cut from the master tapes. Buy a Mofi-1step for 100 bucks: cut from a DSD file. Hmmm...
Anyway, love the sonics & fidelity of this record, but musically it's not my cup of tea.
