The sales of this are so misleading. You pay DLP price for the paradise edition and you get only ONE lp. You get a carton box where you can put your Born To Die DLP (that you need to buy extra). So you're paying 4-5 even lp price for a 3lp or even less depending if you get a good sound press.... LUCKALY in my case, the sound is great. BIG MINUS for misleading sales. If you ask me, try getting LDR LPs opened, listened and checked.

I bought this thinking it was the original double LP plus the Paradise edition mini LP, only to find that the mini LP was being sold alone for 40€. Was I the only one who thought that the track listing on the back implies that there are 3LPs inside? Any thoughts?

I cannot vouch for which exact version I have in of the runouts listed above - I bought my copy in 2023, and I was very hesitant given the bad reviews here and the rather high price they asked for it, but I'm completely blown away by the quality of the pressing of mine. It's dead quiet and has literally zero pops right out of the bag after only a cleaning with a normal carbon brush. I reckon this is also due to the record being delivered in an actual poly-lined sleeve instead of the crappy paper or cardboard sleeves that usually leaves a lot of fragments and dirt on the record.
HOWEVER there is something really strange about the mastering of the album. As someone humorously pointed out below, it sounds like Body Electric was mastered after the kids went to bed, and indeed, the RMS sound volume plummets by something like 5db from Cola to Body Electric. The same issue, although less severe, is actually present on side B, where to my ears Gods And Monsters and Yayo are mastered at somewhat lower level than Blue Velvet (which feels the same as tracks A1-A3), and Bel Air is mastered even lower again. The jumps on side B are smaller and more gradual, and so less noticable, but they are there. It's worth noting, however, that this seems not to be a feature of the LP, but of the album mastering in general. Thus, the drop in RMS audio level from Cola to Body Electric is seen also in rips from CD, see for instance here: https://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/90708 The audio level issues is not a deal breaker for me because I digitize my records and mostly listen to them from my PC, which allows me to correct the audio levels in the process, but I can understand people who listen to the record directly finding this annoying. -
Edited 2 years agoMy copy has some surface noise! In side A, some pops can be notice in track Ride and Body Electric. In side B some surface noise appears in Blue Velvet and Bel Air! I would give it 4/5 for my copy.

The hate I have for GZ….. this would sound amazing but has so much surface noise and pops😭 really sad. Blue Velvet and Yayo sound the worst..
-
My copy sounds good too, no worries here. Indeed be carefull that it comes for a case to put Born to die in but Born to die is not included.
-
hope whoever decided to put cardboard in this and word it so it sounds like it does come with born to die lp wakes up and their teeth have turned into cardboard

Love this album and my pressing is decent, but the cardboard box set it came with was crappy and came unglued. I got it when I was a beginner collector and didn’t think twice about throwing it out... anyone interested in selling me an intact box set for me to house my BTD and Paradise copies?

Edited 4 years agoIs this the same pressing/mastering as the previous crappy version? Or an updated mastering like the the full uk double B2D with the bonus tracks? I'm looking for a better copy of Paradise. Does the UK double B2D fit in this slipcase?

My copy sounds pretty good. Only a few tiny little and not disturbing noises. Mine came without a code.
