Lonerism is the most aggressive Tame Impala album I've had to date. Like the bad trip that I've never endured while ingesting psychedelics.
The instrumentation here is more skittish in syncopation than the synth heavy notes that come in Tame Impala's later discography. When the synths actually do come in on "Lonerism" they tend to be more haunting and drawn out like a Black Sabbath record.
While listening to "Lonerism", The Beatles inspiration is audible, unlike on Tame Impala's later records, which is a drawback for "Lonerism", since in most cases with music, inspiration is best left up to interpretation than to be credited.
"Why Won't They Talk To Me?" is a clear hit, followed by "Feels Like We Only Going Backwards" which sets the definition of "Lonerism" as the narrative of a spirit walker, realizing that the journey of the soul is only for the self. Like the age old platitude "what's good for the goose is not good for the gander".
"Lonerism" is Tame Impala's red pill rage record - an essential period of time for all who practice the art of seeking truth.

This might be the worst quality control I've experienced across my recent record purchases. What a disappointment. There's so much static - enough to be heard on even louder sections of the LP. This is unfortunate, because the music is interesting and a veritable potpourri of sounds.

My D-Side is where the static really picks up and has so much blank spaces on SJWBM. Hoping the new release will be perfect. It’s my favorite Tame album.

Love this album so much so it's extremely disappointing hearing the quality of this vinyl. Elephant is the worst culprit, it keeps going in and out and getting crazy muffled. Hoping for a repress and deluxe for the 10 year anniversary cause this sounds absolutely terrible.

funny story, I don't listen to as much tame impala as I did back in 2018 however, I did manage to cut my finger on the paper sleeves once.

After owning currents and the slow rush, I was under the impression than tame impala only has good pressings. Unfortunately, my favorite tame impala album has the worst pressing. This thing sounds pretty bad

poor quality pressing, the hole on the 2nd LP is off center and both records are warped but still playable. also on side D the edge is raised way too high so when you place it on the edge it makes the needle jump off it to the middle of the first song. surprisingly my copy sounds decent, not great but not horrible. jacket is flimsy and it comes with those cheap white paper sleeves

My copy has so. much. surface. noise. And what's with Tame Impala's habit of leaving so much blank wax?

Just like the previous comments, this record sounds very distorted and has a terrible ear piercing sound on the highs. Very unfortunate, I love Tame Impala but the pressing is just terrible.
