How does this first -2/-2 stereo pressing sound, especially in comparison to the later -3/-3 cut? I guess the stereo "loud cut" never even made it to the shelves after the fiasco with the mono one.

My copy matches up with everything here including the font and the slight shift over of STEREO underneath MARK to the right of the yellow/black £ logo.
Another small thing worth noting is that mine has the exact same corner sliced off the top right of the M of RPM on side 1. -
My copy has the word Stereo on the label further to the left on side one the same as on side two. Other than that it is identical to this issue with Times New Roman font and the -2 -2 matrices.
