Edited 19 years agoAbsolute classic Manowar album. Brilliant in its lyrical cheesyness, over the top to the point of it being comic, and so very very very metal (one might even say that it is more metal than metal)! For example, the great big boom crash ending of drum rolls and mad guitars on the last track, aptly titled "Black Wind, Fire And Steel", is actually longer than the song itself. This release is overkilled in its "metal" intensity, and is absolutely brilliant because of it.
There is an interesting side to this release for anyone who likes experimenting with strange genres. Manowar are well known perfectionist freaks and as such the accuracy and timing of music is near perfect. What this means is that "Fighting The World" has many tracks that are perfectly suited for mixing into electronic music. This is quite ironic when you considering how utterly obsessed Manowar are with preserving their "pure" self-image of metaldom. So try it out.
