As others have said, this is an impeccable pressing. It’s like hearing this album for the first time all over again. This is cut super hot/loud so even a beat up copy will shine through the crackle. Just unbelievable.

This pressing continues to blow me away. It’s my first and still favorite Cure album. The pressing is detailed, full and dead silent. Great sound stage as well. If I had to be picky some of the highs get a little lost in the background but that also seems to be how the Cure records. I’ve got this humming thru some B&W speakers driven by a nice MC cart and it does not disappoint. I pull sounds out I never knew existed. Do not sleep on this pressing. It does not disappoint.

Edited 2 years agoMy first "alternative" record, bought along with a Shriekback (!) LP circa '85. I played my copy into the ground back in the day, and it still sounds pretty good considering the lousy Sears stereo I had then. Agreed: punchy AF — "The Blood" KICKS.

A friend just gave me his record collection, I’m checking them one by one and the sound of this pressing is incredible ! I just went wow at the In between days intro and thought I accidentally putted the sound up…but no, this pressing really is something.

I just ordered the 2016 180g remaster to compare the two. I agree. this LP has terrific sound. Unfortunately, my vinyl skips at the beginning of "In Between Days." Despite this, fabulous pressing!
