Mathew Jonson – Followed By Angels EP

The A-side takes is nothing but a beautiful melodic pattern loaded into the synths combined with a simple 4x4 pattern into the drum machines and then Jonson is twisting knobs organically for 12 minutes... Pure electronic trance!

Don't know about other owners of this release, but Followed By Angels is afflicted by nasty digital distortion, the digital mastering is highly likely to be responsible. To add to this, my vinyl pressing, which was near mint new, is really noisy - you can tell it's a quality issue rather than simply dirty or worn. Shame as it's a sweet melodic techy number with a distinctively warm rhythmic bassline...

"Followed By Angels" is a warm, plastic-y, melodic techno track that almost rivals Aril Brikha's best work. Its structure is very minimal with elements rising and falling in the mix in a hipnotic manner. In my opinion this is better than all his other solo work, by far.
