It’s tempting to call The Elecktroid’s only album, ELEKTROWORLD, classic, but if the term fits, why not? From the first chugs of “Future Tone,” the Drexciyan attitude comes through loud and clear. A smoothness permeates the album from the sweet melodics of “Perpetual Motion” to the more beat-driven “Japanese Electronics.” Some disembodied vocal samples bubble up in “Check Mate,” and “Mystery World” has the requisite amount of mystery, but the Kraftwerkian futurism never wanes. “Thermo Science” and “Stun Gun” thrive on chunky synths, and “Floatation” goes sparse. It’s a world I still love to visit.

Excellent release more branched towards japanese telecom and der zyklus, but not as minimal and edged as dopplereffekt. Moody in some places and very very funky in others. Definately worth getting.
Btw: The drexciya bonus track is "Triangular Hydrogen Strain" (trk 15 on the nept lair cd) and not "Oxyplasmic Gyration Beam" (trk 16). The mess up is due to the fact that the nept' lair cd cover doesn't count the intro as a track in itself, and hence trk 1 listed on the cover is visible as trk 2 on the cd display etc... -
I have a post-1999 pressing of the CD (in addition to the vinyl) and it contains a "hidden bonus track". And by whom? Guess what? Yes, it's Drexciya. The track is "Oxyplasmic Gyration Beam" from "Neptune's Lair". That solves a lot of mysterious rumours right? They had been going on since 1996... Anyway, some months go the connection was officially confirmed, so the topic is old hat as of now. Just thought that the idea with this CD was a nice hint. Wavejumpers know how to leave traces...
