The 2018 pressing sounds a lot better.
Brighter, fuller, more dynamic. This repress doesn’t sound bad, per se, but it’s not as optimal as the original pressing.. -
Ok so here’s my take. This record has been sitting around staring at me since Black Friday. Finally compared it to the first press cd The Rsd vinyl has more bottom end fullness compared to the og cd. The cd has better upper frequency sparkle but not as balanced and dense sound as the Rsd vinyl. Also with the better bottom end the vinyl has superior punch .Im playing the vinyl on a Luxman PD-151 with Lyra Kleos SL cart
Playing the cd through a Luxman D-N150
Both into Focal Kanta II speakers.
To me the weighted bottom end makes the vinyl the definitive version. YMMV

Edited 5 months agoPlays flat, nice colour, but most importantly sounds great on my system with no audio issues on my end!

Edited 5 months agoIt sounds like a 90s record.
It’s bright.
The snare on In the Blood will make you question your financial choices.
The bass on Good will have you calming down.
By Southern Girl you’ll be smiling. -
Don’t have the 2018 to compare but this is a nice press and one I’ve been waiting on for a while. In all fairness, the overall recording is not the best even on the original. The volume has to be turned up to hear better even on streaming when compared to any other song. Typical 90’s production. Glad to finally have in my collection. Brings back great memories.

2018 is so much better, when I want to listen to this that’s the one I will go to, alittle disappointed and if you are paying over 100 for it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is a decent pressing. Not going to blow your socks off - but acceptable likely digitally sourced pressing. As mentioned above, the louder you turn this up the better it sounds. Nice pressing though, and as a bonus (sad as it sounds), is the poly lined inner sleeves!

Edited 5 months agoAny reviews on this compared to the 2018? A previous review, now deleted, indicated that it sounded flat with no low end, when compared to the 2018.
