Edited 4 months agoSure, anyone could argue that it isn't as good as Hybrid Theory, but for me, this is the first time I've taken an interest in the band since Meteora. Emily's recent live performances have been infectious, and her talent and ferocity are shown in full display here. You want screaming? You've got it! You want that Nu Metal sound? You've got it! If you're a fan of Linkin Park, old or new, there'll be something in here for you. My only real concern is that this new fever dream could end just as quickly as it started, with the band's success banking on whether Mike makes the eventual move towards Pop music. Fortunately for Zero, tracks like "The Emptiness Machine", "Heavy Is The Crown", "Overflow", "Casualty", and "IGYEIH" all exhibit the clever and bold signature sound of the band. But if tracks like "Good Things Go", "Stained", and "Over Each Other" are indicative of what's to come, then they'll be doomed to wander the emptiness machine.
