If you desire to build even a small collection of classic hardcore punk from the U.S.A., this collection is an essential purchase. Arguably the most original of all the bands featured on the "Flex Your Head" comp. LP, VOID's style of rabid, metallic, and thoroughly extreme hardcore is still as vital sounding today as in '82. Like Boston's NEGATIVE FX, Milwaukee's DIE KRUEZEN, Ann Arbor's STATE, Philadelphia's YDI, among others from across the nation, VOID were both pure in goal (i.e. they didn't seem to have one) and unique in style, offering much inspiration for the explosion of extreme h/c and crossover of the 'post-'82 era.
In my world, American h/c does not get any better and VOID reside in the highest echelons of effortless hardcore mastery. Even if you have the old VOID-"Hit & Run Studio Sessions" bootlegs, this amazing and brilliantly restored release is of the highest quality and not a single note shy of "must have" status.
