Side A has a decent amount of surface noise. Side B the most part sounds great, if it weren't for the right side of the speakers going mute for probably a total of 30 seconds! Very dissapointed, I bought it out of state so I am unable to return it:( Come on Opeth you're better than this!

Amazing reissue. My copy was flat & dead silent. Sound stage was quite impressive! Would have orefered an anti-static sleeve, but that's about the only thing I can hold against this pressing.

My opinion about this release:
1. The Packaging: Pretty disapointing that the inner sleeve is not anti-static. The lyrics are nice but I would 100% prefer an anti-static over this, if I were to choose.
2. The sound: It was phenomenal. Everything sounds very clear and a pleasant to the ears. There was some background noise on certain songs, but nothing I haven't seen before and it wasn't bothersome at all.
Overall a really good release, would highly recommend it if you like the album. -

I just got a copy of this after reading these reviews. The side B label is non-existent on mine. The sound is overall phenomenal. The best low end extension I've heard yet. Very defined bass that isn't boomy. Vocals on the MOV version can have some sibilance that are not present in this version. The 2015 reissue sounds very similar. There might be a bit more breathing room/space in this recent reissue, but that is splitting hairs. All 3 versions I have sound great, the MOV, 2015 Damnation & Deliverance reissue, and this 20th anniversary reissue. Top 2 are a tie for this version and the 2015 reissue IMO.

My copy's pretty much flawless, gorgeous sound even on side B, great mix. Really happy to finally have this

So much space to place the credits of this edition, and nothing to be said about who produced the album, who remixed it, when and where... Sometimes I just don't understand these reissues.

Really pleased with the pressing and master. Sounds warm and natural on vinyl with surprising depth. Can’t wait for Deliverance!
