Kylie* – Tension

love this album, love this cover, really? a opaque silver pressing. such a b**** killer lol

there is definitely surface noise - mostly during the quieter parts.

A good (if not great) pressing, mostly nice and clear, just a little muffled (but still perfectly listenable) toward the end of side A. The color doesn't have a lot of metallic going on, which does make it look more gray than silver, but there's a bit of shimmer. I imagine if they'd tried to do more they'd have gotten the rippling effect you see on records like Butterfly.

It also helps that it's the least horrifying of the various covers.

Now, I've been a fan of basically all Kylie's singles from the year of 2000 and always enjoyed the possibility to snatch up all those 12"s in multiples vinyl formats for every single, a few years later - or directly - for close to nothing, here on discogs and through other online shops.
Granted, I of course heard of her back when she did the locomotion and onward through the 90s, but didn't think much of her music. The albums never seemed to offer that much to me, and mostly on CD, I never got into any of her albums (I have them all more or less) up until Aphrodite and Kiss Me Once, which I got on vinyl, it was the first time I could listen to a full album without skipping tracks.
Golden and Disco left me - unmoved all together, and..
Tension!! I raised an eyebrow as Padam was released, but, the phenomenon we know as Kylie, ALWAYS release good singles, but, this time - I have to say that I'm completely blown away - I love the whole full album! There isn't a single track that I want to miss, and I've already listened to this silver vinyl for at least 15 - 20 times, this is by far her most complete album ever IMO, no other album is even close as a whole. Wonderful melodies, simple but perfect arrangements, coherent, contemporary and retro at the same time, even her pushed back and meddled voice is more Kylie than ever, how that could even make any sense. I don't really care about the silver or whatever colour, or that the pics are reiterated in the booklet, this is the Album that I always will Kylie for, as all parts make up the sum = true perfection. Joyous, catchy, seductive, full of hope and love. At a time - 2023 - when Kyliie has already been around as an artist for 35 years, she delivers this?!!!

Honestly I'm a little annoyed they didn't mention the booklet, I don't like silver vinyl and I didn't care much about the gatefold pic >.<

Great pressing, no warps, pops or clicks, the bass sounds good and I’m happy to get this today! Also waiting on the green/purple pressing! My favourite song on the standard album is probably one more time or story. The booklet is gorgeous, the glossy sleeve is good quality also. Happy with this pressing so far nothing worth complaining about Kylie pressings are usually good quality for me atleast

This record sounds amazing!!! Some really great mastering done here. Zero skipping, pops, or crackling. It sounds so clean. The album’s title track and “10 Out Of 10” sound so impressive; throbbing bass, crisp highs, and the vocals sit perfectly in the middle without ever sounding muddy. There’s the slightest bit of sibilance as you get to the inner grooves on Side A, but it’s something most listeners won’t even notice.

I bought this variant because the artwork is my favorite of them all and I love a gatefold. My only real notes about the product as a whole is that I wish the deluxe tracks were included and I wish there was a hype sticker. The quality of everything else is really great.
