Sounds terrific! I had an original on LP when it came out (mail ordered from Brazil), but sold it long ago in favour of the Roadrunner CD - which I still have. While my nostalgia is with the original, it is incredible to spin these songs on vinyl again. My copy arrived VERY clean, flat, quiet (not a single pop or tick) and in a poly-lined sleeve. Sleeve is a bit flimsy, but it was $29CAD on Amazon, so I won’t complain.

I don't know about everyone else, but I have not run across an original. So when I heard they were rerecording this I couldn't wait to get a copy. Then I heard it and it sounded amazing to me. Fresh but true to the original. So now we can all get a good sounding recording of this album at a fair price, at least for now. Happy listening.

Edited 9 months agoFolks saying that "It's not as great as the original" most likely have a (somewhat heavy) nostalgic attachment to the original Cogumelo recording for various reasons. I actually think the re-recording is definitely worth a complete listen (despite any extensive use of reverb), and is a compliment to the existence of the original, both going hand & hand. What I find interesting, is how having not listened a huge amount to the original, I (for the moment) prefer the re-recording - especially with the inclusion of the new song "Nightmares of Delirium".

I loved the re-do of Bestial Devastation and Morbid Visions. The amount of care that Max did to improve yet make it sound like still from that era was magnificent.
However with this one it's just over done and way to much reverb on the vocals. Instead of making it sound better with the needed improvements he has reversed it to sound like older recordings. This will never replace the original for me and I will be skipping this in my catalog. -
As with the Cavalera brothers themselves, this is one of the best things to ever happen in metal. The new track is a great album closer and could easily have been conceived during this era. Brilliant!

Out of the three re-recordings, Schizophrenia is the most well-done. From Iggor's drumming, Max's vocals, to Travis Stone's lead guitars, this version of Schizophrenia is excellent as the original Sepultura album is my second favourite from the band's discography.
The LP was pressed at Optimal Media GmbH and despite my mixed reviews from the plant, my copy is well-pressed. Dynamic range is also better than the CD/digital as Nuclear Blast Records regularly uses more dynamic masters from the original studio mixes. -
Brillant re-recording. Just a bit to much reverb on the voice for me. Will see after more listening.
