Edited 2 months agoAs with most enhanced CDs from the 90s, most PCs today have trouble playing this content. (I'm running Windows 10. The enhanced menu still works, but it won't call up video from within the animated menu.) Kind of ironic, I suppose; this was supposed to be the wave of the future, and yet it became deprecated within about a decade or so as the necessary software became obsolete, and the most retro of formats, the vinyl LP, came back with a vengeance. HOWEVER... with patience, you can typically still access at least the videos here, if you can navigate to the folder called "Source." Otherwise, the chief value here are the two bonus tracks, which to my knowledge, even as of 2025, are unavailable anywhere else. It's interesting hearing Sarah do a version of the Prayer of St. Francis, knowing that she also covered XTC's Dear God! Yet it seems natural in her hands. Regardless of your beliefs, it stands on its own merits as great art, Sarah at her finest. Likewise, the "Jazz Version" of Sweet Surrender is a sweet treat indeed. I won't say it's better than the original, but it might be its equal.
