Edited 19 years agoDr. Pablo's homage to his namesake Augustus Pablo took a further leap forward with the release of this LP "North Of the River Thames".
I have owned the record for years but it only just occured to me that the title is an obvious allusion to Augustus Pablo's "East Of The River Nile" which I have also owned for quite some time.
I thought it was a complete revelation/epiphany kind of thing when I realised but in hindsight I'm probably quite stupid for not having noticed earlier.
Also, to add some factual musical info, it goes without saying that the LP features some outstanding melodica playing.
Aside from the hilarious version of the Dr. Who theme the rest of the LP is dubbing of the highest order.
