Although it is catalogued as "Italo Disco" and justifiably so, it is made by people from Holland. With some pride I can say that it was apparently made by the people from Hotsound (a record shop I used to visit frequently) and "I Venti d'Azzurro". IVd'A started as a radio program - in 1985 I think - on "Radio Stad Den Haag" where it was a top 20 of Italo Disco records - and once in a while also Italo Disco fom another country like or Holland (Venti = 20 and Azzurro = blue, the colour of Italy). In the '90's it became a record label which made a restart in 2007 with "Swan - Shining star".
"I Venti d'Azzuro" was hosted by Marcello d'Azzurro (Marcel van den Belt) and Michiel van der Brugge. Both great and very friendly guys. They do so much to inspire you to great Disco/Dance music, especially, but not only, Italo Disco.
They are still "on the air" but you don't have to live close to Den Haag (The Hague) anymore to listen to them , they're on the internet (https://www.radiostaddenhaag.com ), especially every Saturday, Sunday and Monday evening/night. Herman van Velzen (who did the recording and some of the vocals) is also there on Tuesday nights. The main vocals are from Jody Pijper.
Overall it's great to see that "I Venti d'Azzuro" is doing so well now, still, after almost 40 years, as a radio program but also as a record label, it is very well deserved for everyone involded in it and especially to Marcello who is such a great, friendly guy whose enthusiasm is always very catchy - go listen to his program on Monday at nine, it is in English and there is a chatbox, it is always really nice to participate. -
Words can't describe the emotions i feel when listening to Desire. One of the best vocal tracks produced by Michiel van der Kuy, and this is a big thing after being in the industry for 40 years.
