Bought this around 2003 on eBay for 150 euro. These were the going prices for this record at that time before it got repressed. It was RARE as hell. Got to know it via Derrick May's Mix-Up compilation / dj-set.

It is no secret that "Good Girls" samples The Good Men - Give It Up, which samples Fanfarra' and 'Magalenha' performed by Sérgio Mendes.. but, lesser know is the fact that actually Carl did a remix for The Good Men - Give It Up and gave it to the Fresh Fruit label, (Carl was living in Amsterdam at that time).. but.. the Fresh Fruit label rejected it.... so Carl released it himself..

Limited release, that was, as mentioned already below, initially only available to Planet E Communications subscribers, was sent out as a bonus record, also recall getting a free sweat shirt on g up - as an aside, all I can say is, during the time I was a member they sent a ton of stuff, pre-release white labels and the actual releases themselves when out, it was seriously good value, really can't see how Carl made money on it, he's either too generous or have zero business nous ; ) Anyway, the filter swept Good Girls remix was the highlight for me here, made a ton of use out of that...

First heard this in 1994 by Carl Craig at Buzz in Washington DC.
I couldn't see im spin so I thought he was tweaking the eq's live!
Needless to say I was glued to his set the whole night after being knocked off my feet by this record. Good Girls was the track and I got a copy a year later when I subscribed to Planet E. Played the living daylights out of this record out from 1995 on to 2002. Still one of my all time favorite tracks. Demented. -
I have a dj set by Derrick May where he played in my hometown in Holland back in '93... the first record in his set was the Good Girls remix... The crowd went mad, the atmosphere was set! But... nobody knew what this was... Imagine how I felt a few years later when I walked into my recordstore and discovered it was out on vinyl! Payed an equivalent of 30 euros at the time and now its one of the most sought after Planet E´s... cool. Thank You mr. Craig.

"Good Girls" samples the Good Men "Give It Up" (which in turn sampled that famous marching brazillian drum-beat thing)...
-
a2 - "Stevie Knows" contains a sample from "Another Star" by Stevie Wonder (from Songs in the Key of Life).
