Edited one year agoIf you love Holy Money & Cop, this is IT. As rough and straight and beautiful they were.
...and YES, nowadays, more than ever: IT IS A GOOD IDEA. -

Received the version I bought directly from the Young God Records site, signed on the back by Gira and did not include a code. Possibly a fluke, but that's how it arrived.

Is this mastered slow?
The video of this show has the same songs and they are very far apart. Likewise with the Real Love album which has performances of these songs from the European leg of the tour.
Speed it up by 10% and experience it again. -
Some of us in the US might be getting a bit jealous. The US pressing was going to ship in February, but has been pushed to March. Might have to order from Mute! ;-)

My copy arrived with no issues, the two LPs are not 180g vinyl but they still sound huge and massive even with a pair of middle end speakers.
I can't really talk about the sound quality since we're not talking about a hi-fi recording in the first place, but the entire album played with no skips or frequent pops/clicks. -
This reissue is pretty good. I love how they kept close to the original aesthetic of the album.
I have the original release and a quick comparison revealed what was to be expected - a little quieter with a tiny bit cleaner sound - some noises and distortions have been smoothed over, but it still sounds as harsh as it needs to be. Whether this is good or bad is probably a matter of taste.
As for the pressing quality - perfectly satisfactory. The original is lighter but still plays wonderful and at least my copy has less surface noise than the reissue which has minimal, nothing too bothering (I haven't cleaned it with anything other than a brush but after all we are comparing a 35 year old album versus a brand new one) -
