This COULD be a great pressing but sadly the bass is WAY too over bloated on this. To the point of ridiculousness!! It’s extreme. Be prepared to turn your bass down by at least 2 notches. My system handles it just fine but Still… I shouldn’t have to worry about that. AND it muddies up the sound. Practically Buries the highs. I’m Sure an original pressing would blow this away. This is Definitely not analog. No way

The Swing is hands down my favorite INXS album. Because of that, I own several different pressings and decided to pick this one up as well. Compared to the 1984 US SRC or Japan pressings, this one just doesn’t sound good on my system. The bass is extremely heavy/boosted above neutral throughout, to the point of sounding boomy/sloppy at times. Original Sin and I Send a Message are among the worst. Not to mention the light surface noise this has here and there straight from the pressing plant, is very annoying. If you want a great all analog copy, get an original ‘84.

Edited 2 years agoSimply WOW. Of course the record is warped - thanks again GZ Media. That issue aside, the mastering is out-of-this-world. The bass is way more present than in previous pressings - mid and highs are also much better than the 40th Shabooh Shoobah pressing. Solid artwork and original inner sleeve. Five stars, despite the warp which can be fixed.

Edited 2 years agoMy copy has Sean Magee's signature ('i...i') on the matrix / runout of side B. So it looks as though he cut the lacquer. But there's no indication as to whether or not it's remastered. However, it sounds fantastic.
