just bought this in february and im telling you that this is one of the best sounding pressings i own!! the pressing is beautiful but fair warning it is a lot darker than i had originally assumed, and wasn't really a bright blue.

Edited 5 months agoPackaging - 5/5
Gatefold is beautiful and cover is iconic
Nice inner sleeves for records
Pressing - 4.5/5
Color is quite beautiful and such a treat to look at
Sound - 3.5/5
A lot of distortion on Pats vocals on the last songs on each disc. While it’s not inherently awful sounding, it did throw me off. Songs like Golden, Bang the Doldrums and Take Over the Breaks Over sound absolutely amazing. GINASFS sounds great too.
Overall - light 4/5
Definitely the definitive version of such a classic album. Possibly the best FOB pressing in my collection besides my copy of Folie a Deux, which does sound quite good.
-
Sounds a whole lot better than the previous pressings for sure! Little to no surface noise after cleaning too. I did notice a good amount of inner groove distortion on each disk though, mainly the last two sides, but that could just be my set up. G.I.N.A.S.F.S still has a few seconds cut but it doesn’t feeling jarring or anything. It has two “Now Press Repeat” but that’s the same on the CD/Streaming master so it’s really not a big deal. Not really a night and day difference as far as dynamics go but still better than before. Definitely not worth these prices on here now though, unless you’re just a big fan looking solely to collect

Absolutely STUNNING record! Flawless out of the sleeve, probably the best ratio of quality to eye candy I have so far

mine sounds flawless out of wrapping. Such an awesome album and this pressing looks amazing. Never thought I would get a chance to own this on vinyl so very happy to be adding it to the collection.
-
Sounds great, no issues :) Very pretty too, might be the definitive pressing of this album at this point.
-
Was there no hype sticker for this pressing? I’m wanting to buy a copy and can’t find one with any stickers.
-
Does anyone else's version have a tough time with the song "Golden"? It's very strange to me, I have cleaned it with my vinyl vac set up which has everything else sounding great and very quiet in the background but for some reason that ONE song sounds like the producer almost put a "record effect" on the song. Drives me nuts cause it's the only song not loud enough to overpower the background noise. Other than the issue with golden everything else is top notch.
-
Really beautiful record, the sparkle effect is just stunning. As far as audio... it might be my copy specifically but right out of the package I'm dealing with some pops on the A-side and an unfortunate amount of distortion. No visible scuffs or scratches though, and the dynamics of the audio are just fine. Listenable, but not great.

Edited 2 years agoBeautiful record but my copy has a lot of pops and there were a few moments of distortion. Soundwise it's fine.
The intro for G.I.N.A.S.F.S is cut and the "now press repeat" clip plays twice - after "I've got all this ringing..." and "It's hard to say I do..."
