Undoubtedly one of the pillars of my collection. This movie soundtrack helped building musical tastes of thousands of people. This is arguably where big beat was the most well-known, thanks to the presence of The Prodigy, Propellerheads, Meat Beat Manifesto and Lunatic Calm. The "Dragula" remix also fits in this style.
It's particularly ironic when you realize that not all of these choons where actually heard during the movie. However, the dark, deep and smashing atmosphere fit very well with the cyberpunk-ish and dynamic universe of "Matrix".

The association of metal and electronic music has never been recognized for its true worth, and that irates me.
Moreover, given the 62 minute length of this release, there's some room left where some noise could've been added, notably uncredited songs from the film such as Massive Attack's "Dissolved Girl", played when Trinity s Neo when the latter is wearing headphones.
It really does bring a dynamic complentary contrast to Don Davis' brilliant orchestrating performance, in my opinion.

I don't know who had the idea of combining this OST together, but I want to say thank you for making it real.

If not for "Ultrasonic Sound" and "My Own Summer" (which I just don't appreciate as much), it would've been a 5/5.

This is one of my favorite soundtracks. I used to listen to this and play Team Fortress Classic/Counter-Strike/Action Half-Life, around 2000/2001/2002. Good memories! I wish there was a vinyl release of this. Though this was made in a time when people thought vinyl would never be returning (especially as we see it today), let alone a viable means of selling music. Excellent soundtrack for an excellent film.
They need to do a reissue of this and put it on vinyl for some future RSD or something!
