Seriously tho, does anyone know the deal with the 3" CD containing the Japanese bonus tracks that came with this release?
mine's housed in a little cardboard sleeve that says "Promo only - not for resale. 3WARPCD117"
Everything else about the CD, case and artwork matches this release perfectly.
I did buy it used. This 3" wasn't in all copies I'm guessing. Just seems weird it's not mentioned on the discogs page anywhere. and the japanese version has a regular 5" bonus disc. -
It took me several listens to really grasp it, and now that I have I'll just say…
This album is a goddamned motherfucking MEISTERSTÜCK/MASTERPIECE
Thank you so much for making this Mr Squarepusher, whoever you are. -
One could say that "Ultravisitor" is almost a return to form for TJ, but what form would that be? This is a man who defies description; no amount of pigeon-holing will ever work.
After the intense electro-schizophrenia of his last two albums, "Ultravisitor" is a welcome change of pace. It isn't without its craziness (Menelec & District Line 2, I'm looking at you). But In between the 4000 BPM bangers we have "I Fulcrum", "An Arched Pathway", and "C-Town Smash" (which are all incredible bass workouts). "50 cycles" is more "F-Train" wankery(if you like hearing Tom rap what sounds like a physics textbook, this is for you). Then, to top it off, we have 2 incredibly beautiful pieces of classical-esque basswork with "Andrei" and "Every Day I Love".
Highlights of the album are by far "Iambic 9 poetry" & "Circlewave". Worth the price of ission.
Seek out the limited edition (comes with the 3" Ultravisitor EP(which includes the unheard track "Talk about you and me"). -

Edited 18 years agoYou can easily debate this as Jenkinson's best work to date. With gems like "Iambic 9 Poetry," "Circlewave," and "Ultravisitor," concatonated with live snippets of Tom jamming on his bass, this is a 79 minute album of pure genius. Get it any way you can.

Edited 20 years agoThe tunes Ultravisitor and Circlewave are worth the cost of the CD alone. Be prepared for an out of body experience. Insanely sporatic drums and bass will make make your heart palpulate while your mind will forever dwell in this chaotic beauty by genius Thomas Jenkinson. 10/10
