Heard this one at my preferred local record shop. Sure the vinyl is silent but sound is WAY TOO bright, too trebly, to the point of distortion sometimes. I was ready to invest good money in a nice pressing of III, but will rather save for another version.
A pity because these 1976 Japanese editions are hit or miss: LZ 1 for instance is mindblowing. But not this one.
Maybe it will fit to some, only truly trust your ears : and after all, I'm the annoying audiophile type. -
I’m going back through my LZ Japanese discography and playing all of them. I own many pressings of this including the Feldman cut, a really nice Spanish one, early U.S., etc. This is a beautiful Japanese pressing. The amazing detail combined with the dead quiet vinyl is a joy to listen to. Vocals shine here, guitars are strong, very warm sounding. My ears are sensitive to badly compressed music with intolerable highs. This is well rounded and an incredible listen. Perhaps system dependent for some, I don’t know but all I know is I personally love it!

Great pressing. sure a tad bright in some parts if you crank it,but this just sound like murk in some pressings so..
-
Silent vinyl for sure. Good pressing. Unfortunately III has always sounded bright and shrill to me. Can't find a good copy with good dynamics. I think it's just III as II from this same year is excellent. Good highs and lows. Well balanced. This one is just a disappointment.

Silent vinyl, fantastic instrument separation. Extremely crankable, get it before it's stupid money!
