Bought this album from Phonica Records a month ago and I'd love to know what people are talking about regarding "mirrored 1|" or "mirrored 1+" because mine doesn't have a 'mirrored' 1 anywhere, with or without any accompanying symbol. However, I assume mine's this most recent re-press due to including no card, which the previous pressings supposedly included. My copy plays very well, although I have just noticed small scratches near the end of the last track on side A (just below the Warp catalog number etching).

Pressing quality is truly unforgivable on this one, isn't it? Has anyone had luck getting a better replacement copy directly from Warp?

Bought a repress copy from HMV so I can return it easily if it's a dud as many of the represses have been reported to be. Seems ok though so I am keeping it. All releases seem to have used copies of the same original stamper with the mirrored "1" followed by various symbols like | , + , Δ , ⏊ , | | in the matrix. The reported noises and nonfill defects people report must be spurious manufacturing issues rather than a remastering issue. I don't believe people reporting changes in the general dynamic range of overall image stage there is no evidence of remastering. I am always weary of people hyping up first presses for profit.

Beautiful pressing- one of the best albums from the last couple of years, in my opinion. Dead-silent surfaces and excellent mastering; highly recommended.

most importantly, amazing modern jazz record for lack of a better description. it's on Warp, so you know it has some other angles to it. ambient at times, great for a late night, a few tracks have some dope drums, all instruments have great tone. lastly, my pressing sounds great, not a click. flat pressing. grab this over the tone poet and a working musician.

Riddled with clicks and pops despite repeated cleanings. Tons of dirty in the groove when I bought this record new. Terrible press.

I think I have the Jan 2022 repress and my copy sounds very good - rich and warm, with a few clicks here and there but definitely nothing terrible.

Pretty happy with this pressing, not perfectly quiet but close, it’s very dynamic; was expecting less based on the comments on here.

I have the repress. It sounds very clean and quiet. I wouldn’t say pitch black, but very good. I bought it on Amazon this week. I guess buy at your own risk…

While not exactly “100% free of clicks and pops”, I either seem to have gotten lucky with my copy or statements like “the worst sounding vinyl I ever heard” are a bit over the top. The music is beautiful, the mastering well done, and I have heard far far worse pressings in my 20+ year habit of collecting records. If you want to listen to this with zero background noise I guess digital is the way. I don’t mind a couple of slight ticks when listening to this beautiful mix of organic and electronic sounds. There is something in the mastering process that actually makes me prefer listening to the vinyl version of this release compared to digital, and I don’t mind a slight pop here and there in the background despite being quite picky according to my record dealers.
