I ordered the 2013 but the dishonest Discogs seller sent me the 2021 this has happened a few times to me but no one seems to care. Anyway this sounds very average. Most of MoFi releases are disappointing being sourced digitally instead of analog, (more dishonesty) the photo on the front cover of Mr.Zimmerman is very blurry
-
I don't care how they made this pressing, it sounds fantastic. MOFI certainly did wrong but the fact they were able to deceive everyone for so long only shows quality of their work in my opinion. I'm 41 now and when I was 20 I got really into Dylan and I have never heard this album sound like this. The separation is amazing.

This says it all. Very good review. Words words words.

Edited one year agoThis sounds great, indeed. Very smooth, detailed presentation. However, something about the grungey, overdriven sound of the originals and early reissues suits this album better, to my ears.
-
If you want an all analogue version of this album then stay away from this.
Yes the MOFI debacle can leave an unsavoury taste but if sound & music quality is what drives you then IMO this version is the way to go. -
Thanks, MoFi, for the utter collapse in the price of this album.
Frankly, someone should sue them. Class action. -
Wonderful stereo pressing. Can hear the instruments clearly and great depth. Digital step yes but what matters is how great it sounds.
-
Yes, MoFi was shady (to say the least). But I cannot deny this pressing sounds beautiful. 5/5
Arguably the best record I own -
As with all MoFi products proceed with caution.
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab are aware of customer complaints regarding use of digital technology in their mastering chain. They have apologized for using vague language, allowing false narratives to propagate, and for taking for granted the goodwill and trust of their customers place in the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab brand
