Amazing release - in particular the Luke Slater mix which has a powerful hypnotic drive. This particular mix will always resonate with me as I've witnessed a completely sober friend literally out dancing whilst mesmerised by this track....powerful stuff...
Mixes in perfectly with the PAS material or harder techno of the era (think Jeff Mills, Joey Beltram, Damon Wild etc) -
Probably one of the best Ken track ever in term of audio and videoclip solution.
I cannot image listening this track a part of it's own videoclip -
Edited 14 years agoGod only knows why iamdeck has this release listed in the Top 100 most wanted d&b/jungle 12''s from 1994 & 1995.
This is not drum&bass or jungle, so no offense meant, but you need to swat up on what drum&bass sounds like, because it doesn't sound like this. -
This EP shows Ken Ishii, Luke Slater and Dave Angel from their conventional side. Don't buy it if you are looking for weird, experimental and/or particularly inventive techno. On the other hand those 3 tracks are certainly nice to listen too and great dancefloor material. The Wagon Christ Remix never quite grew on me, but it certainly has something likeable, and it is the least conventional track of the EP (I don't think there already was a lot of DnB back then).
